Hi, I’m Megan!

My husband and I moved to our little century farm in 2021, and I’ve been learning the art of homesteading ever since. My love for simple, traditional living actually began years earlier with gardening, canning, and line-dried laundry blowing in the breeze.

Since then, I’ve spent countless hours learning everything I can about gardening, food preservation, raw milk, chickens, bees, and more. Along the way, I realized how hard it can be to find clear, beginner-friendly information. That’s why Porch on the Prairie was created—a welcoming space to share practical homesteading resources for both beginners and experienced homesteaders alike.

When I’m not blogging or working on the homestead, I’m usually spending time with my husband and our four children. We’re homebodies at heart and love the quiet rhythm of life on our little piece of land. Most people are surprised to learn I also own a tattoo and permanent makeup business, which I run full time.

I’m so glad you stopped by Porch on the Prairie. I hope you’ll stay awhile, explore, and come back often.

Cheers,
Megan
