Hi, I’m Megan!

I’m the gal behind the blog, Porch on the Prairie.

My husband and I moved to our little century farm in 2021, and I’ve been learning all things homesteading ever since. My love for the simple life actually began years prior with gardening, canning, and clothes on the line.

I have spent countless hours learning as much as I can on a variety of topics such as gardening, canning, raw milk, chickens and bees (to name a few) and had trouble finding info for true beginners. Porch on the Prairie was created as a space to share a variety of resources that may be helpful to a beginner and expert homesteader alike.

When I’m not blogging, I love spending my time with my hubby and four children. It takes a lot to get us away from our little oasis in the country, we really are a bunch of homebodies. However, most people are surprised to learn that I also own a tattoo and permanent makeup business, which is my full time gig.
